In this emergency phase against the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to guarantee the maximum safety of our residents, who have chosen community life as a fundamental space to carry out their studies, the Convitto Lateranense Beato Pio IX has scrupulously been following all the public advices contained in the Guidelines of the World Health Organization for accommodation and hotel facilities, as well as the Decrees issued by the Italian Government.

Welcoming residents and guests, as well as providing the variety of services we do (catering, reading and TV room, moments of prayer and deepening in faith, cultural and recreational time, access to all communal areas...), requires a responsible approach in order to combine risk management with the possibility of carrying out accommodation activities and preserving those typical characteristics of hospitality that distinguish the Convitto.

We have promptly activated all preventive and protection measures against Covid-19:

• Adoption of all possible information and communication tools to ensure clarity about the rules of access and behavior (clearly visible signs indicating the main points: distancing measures, hand sanitizing, respiratory care and other behaviors to be kept within the building).
• Our staff is equipped with specific personal protective equipment.
• It is always mandatory to respect the distancing measures (at least one meter between one another).
• Automatic hand sanitizing stations are available for staff and residents.
• In order to limit contact with staff and residents, contractors and suppliers of goods and services entering the facilities will observe all safety measures and systems as indicated to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
• Work areas, workstations and equipment, as well as communal areas will be deep cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis.
• Periodic sanitization of the entire structure, carried out by certified companies.
• The air conditioning system, periodically cleaned, has been sanitized with professional equipment and specific products.
• For everything concerning the preparation and administration of food, residents will eat their meals at tables that allow distancing of at least 1.5 meter.

We constantly monitor and apply local government and local health authority recommendations and guidelines to continue to provide the best possible service while safeguarding the health of our residents and staff.

In this regard, we stress the importance of individual responsibility in adopting behaviors in accordance with the safety measures.
